ADANA – Thirteen prisoners in Osmaniye T Type Closed Prison, who are carrying out indefinite and irreversible hunger strike for 46 days in order to protest rights violations, at immediate risk of death.
The Association of Families of Prisoners (TUHA-DER) announced the prisoners said that they will continue with their protests until their demands are met.
The prisoners Bazi Aslan, Mustafa İlgen, İlhanKeklik, Mehdi Ediş, Osman Bozkurt, İdris Nülifer, Aslan İlhan, Lokman Gül, Ali Manas, Hacı Aydın, Erdal Çelebi, Reşit Taş and Emin Yıldız who are held in Osmaniye T Type Closed Prison, began fasting on 21 February in order to protest the imposed rights violations.13 prisoners on their 46th day of hunger strike are in the immediate danger of death, suffering from serious health problems.

The Association of Families of Prisoners (TUHA-DER) Adana Branch chair Ahmet Doğan, who met the prisoners, raised the concerns about the 46th day of indefinite and irreversible hunger strike as of today carried out in protest of arbitrary practices of prison administrative and the rights violations.
Doğan said: “ Our friends are carrying out hunger strike in order to protest the right violations in the prison. They will continue to hunger strike protest until these rights violations and arbitrary practices come to an end. The prisoners hold a meeting with administrative of the prison. The second administrator of the prison called İbrahim, had told the prisoners:”We have blood feud with you.” Now an inspector is probing the events in the prison. Our friends are suffering from serious health problems and they are at the risk of death. Our friends said that they will continue with their hunger strike protest till their demands are met.
