Bucharest – More than 50 people from the Kurdish Cultural Association in the Romanian capital Bucharest protested by initiating a hunger-strike, against the severe isolation carried out towards the PKK leader, Abdullah Öcalan. On Thursday the hunger-strike will end with a press conference.
In hope to support the indefinite hunger strike initiated by 15 people in the cities of Strasbourg, France and also the 400 imprisoners amongst them MPs. The hunger-strike commenced yesterday at 17:00 with a press release and will last for two-days. Those embracing the hunger-strike demand the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and a political status for Kurdistan. The press-release asked the European Union and the Council of Europe not to remain silent and to take action against, the political-military operation implemented against the Kurdish people and the severe isolation of Abdullah Öcalan
